We stayed here in the peak fall color season, so the area was packed. This campground is clean and quiet. The sites are small, which seems to be the norm for the area. The location is very convenient to most attractions, and the trolley comes through. The Wi-Fi was good, as well as the cable. We had two days of rain during our week there, and since the drainage isn't very good, there were lots of muddy places. We saw the staff adding gravel to one site where the coach door opened onto mud. Some sites are short, but the staff knows their campground well and will ask questions about your unit before you are assigned a site. There isn't much dog-walking space, unless you're parked on the edge of the creek, but there's a steep hill down from most of those sites to the creek. Of course, we pick up after our dogs, but you still hate to have your dog poop on someone's campsite! The bathhouse was really clean. The laundry looked nice, but we didn't use it.
We always stay at this campground on our trips to New England. It has lots of level pull-throughs, so it’s great for an overnight layover. All the sites that we saw have concrete pads and some shade. They have a nice store with Hershey’s ice cream. They also sell fried chicken and burgers and such. There are fast-food places just across the street with a short walk: Subway, Wendy’s, and Dairy Queen. The Internet is free, and you can pick it up from the sites closest to the store. Otherwise you have to walk to the store and sit on the porch. The showers have roomy stalls and good hot water. The shower heads shoot straight down on you from overhead which is weird, but manageable. There is a nice stream through the campground and if you can use a back-in spot, the stream-front sites have steps down to the water. They rent tubes, and for a fee will take you upstream and let you float back to the campground. Our rate of just under $32 was with the Good Sam discount.
This is a nice campground for a good price. It costs less than most others in the area. Our price included electric, water, sewer and cable in a pull-through. The entrance looks sort of dumpy with ruts in the road and RV storage near the front, but the grounds are grassy and clean. The staff is friendly. There are lots of seasonal campers, but we were there in the middle of the week, and there were very few others there. I expect it gets busy on summer weekends. The Wi-Fi works well, but costs $6 a day. You have to pay for showers, but 25 cents is longer than I usually stay in the shower. I would like the water to be a tiny bit warmer, but there's no temperature control. The restrooms are clean.
